What is PUBG VSS Vintorez?

Note: Statistics pulled from http://battlegrounds.party/weapons

The VSS Vintorez (Vintovka Snayperskaya Spetsialnaya) is a special sniper/DMR-type suppressed weapon in BATTLEGROUNDS with a non-removable scope, it can be rarely found around the map. Chambered for a proprietary 9x39mm subsonic cartridge (the in-game version using common 9mm ammo) and used primarily by Spetsnaz forces for clandestine operations, in BATTLEGROUNDS it proves to be a stealthy killer against targets of opportunity.

This weapon was introduced in the Early Access Month 2 Update of 2017, appearing as a crate-exclusive weapon until the July 2017 patch.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds VSS Vintorez in detail

The VSS Vintorez shoots common 9mm ammo in both single and fully automatic firing modes. It deals very low damage compared to other sniper rifles, but because of the integrated suppressor , muzzle report is significantly reduced, while the subsonic ammo causes its bullets simply whiz past rather than making a supersonic crack, making it extremely difficult to locate the shooter.

Because of the use of subsonic ammo, the weapon has a very low muzzle velocity at 330 m/s, compared to the Mini-14 at 990 m/s, making long distance shots and shots against moving targets difficult.

Its maximum effective range is 400m with most efficient performance at 200m – users must still keep in mind that at this range, it will take an approximate two thirds of a second to travel to its target. While its subsonic ammo has low velocity and high drop, the scope’s rangefinder allows for precision shots as it has distance markings for both standing and crouching targets. Once the distance between the user and the target has been found, the scope’s chevrons can then be used to compensate for bullet drop, with the center chevron representing 100 meters, and the following chevrons increasing by 100m each. Despite the poor damage and bullet velocity, the VSS can prove very useful in the end-game because of closer ranges, particularly with an extended magazine, coupled with the most effective suppressor in the game, making detection very difficult even during close quarters combat.

  • The VSS is a suppressed sniper rifle that uses a heavy subsonic 9mm cartridge.
  • ~ In-game description

What is PUBG Vector?

Note: Statistics pulled from http://battlegrounds.party/weapons

The Vector is a submachine gun type weapon in BATTLEGROUNDS. Introduced in the Early Access Month 1 Update of 2017, the KRISS Vector (formerly the TDI Vector) uses an unconventional delayed blowback system to mitigate recoil that makes it useful for controlling automatic fire at close ranges.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Vector in detail

The KRISS Vector, with its low recoil and average damage is most useful in close to mid-range combat. Boasting high rate of fire and low recoil, this gun also has the benefit of having the most attachment slots of all the SMGs to further increase its performance.

The major downside to this gun is — aside from it being less powerful than the UMP9 — its very small magazine capacity of just 13 rounds. Thus, extended magazines are a must for anyone wishing to use this gun further into the match.

  • Modern SMG using delayed blowback system and chambered for .45 ACP ammunition.
  • ~ In-game description

Update history

Update #14 – v3.8.37.5
  • To make the Vector a little easier to find, we’ve increased its spawn rate at the expense of the spawn rate of the UMP-9 (overall SMG spawn rate remains the same).

Update #13 – v3.8.30.2

  • Lightweight Grip and Half Grip can now be attached to the Vector.

Update #12 – v3.8.21.9

  • Adjusted to be more effective in short range combat.
    • Increased limb shots modifier.
    • Slightly increased the damage of the Vector.
    • Decreased vertical recoil.
    • Decreased recoil and scope sway when moving in ADS.
    • Increased ADS transition speed.

Early Access (Month 3 Update) – v2.4.13.7

  • Vector now supports burst mode.

Early Access (Month 2 Update) – v2.3.28

  • Tactical stock is now attachable to the Vector.
  • Reduced bullet damage slightly.
  • Increased deviation gain per shot.

What is PUBG UMP9?

Note: Statistics pulled from http://battlegrounds.party/weapons

The UMP9 is a submachine gun type weapon in BATTLEGROUNDS.

The UMP, short for Universal Machine pistol, is a submachine gun designed by Heckler & Koch. The UMP is the successor to the MP5, though both are in service to this day. The UMP9 featured in the game is the 9mm variant of the original UMP45 chambered for .45 ACP. Widely adopted by police and governmental agencies, with wide adoption specifically amongst the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, it also sees popularity with players as an well-rounded, balanced SMG with manageable recoil and decent firepower.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds UMP9 in detail

The UMP9 deals the second highest damage of all the SMGs, right behind the Tommy Gun, making it a very viable late-stage gun when fitted out with attachments. Its already controllable recoil can be reduced even further with a foregrip and compensator, although stealthy players may opt for a suppressor instead since it already has minimal recoil to begin with.

What is PUBG Tommy Gun?

Note: Statistics pulled from http://battlegrounds.party/weapons

The Tommy Gun is a submachine gun type weapon in BATTLEGROUNDS.

Nicknamed “The Chicago Typewriter,” The Thompson submachine gun is an American submachine gun, invented by John T. Thompson in 1918, that became infamous during the prohibition era. It was a common sight in the media of the time, being used by both law enforcement officers and criminals. Once in extensive use among US troops during WWII, as well as British forces supplied by the US Army,[1] this weapon now sees use for mowing down other players unfortunate enough to be caught in its line of fire.

This weapon was introduced in the Alpha 2 Test of 2016. As of the September Update of 2017 the weapon was removed from air drops, it now spawns as loot on the island.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Tommy Gun in detail

Firing the slow but hard-hitting .45 ACP cartridge, this vintage submachine gun deals the most damage out of all the SMGs, however the inability of this gun to attach sights, coupled with its relatively strong recoil makes it a challenge to use, even in close quarters combat. Extended magazines are highly recommended as the reload time remains unchanged, while magazine capacity is almost doubled.

  • Infinite ammo with trench coat on.
  • ~ In-game description
Not to be taken literally, the description is simply a reference to movies involving Mafia-type gangsters, with this gun featured in them whose wielders never seemed to have to reload.

Trivia

  • The Thompson featured in this game is the M1928A1 model by default. Attaching a foregrip turns it into the earlier M1928 model.
  • In game the Tommy Gun is incorrectly depicted as having a closed bolt.
  • Prior to it being removed from air drops, it could be found in them with a foregrip and extended magazine included by default. The extended magazine modification also gave it a 100 round drum magazine, rather than the real life 50 round capacity.

What is PUBG S1897?

Note: Statistics pulled from http://battlegrounds.party/weapons

The S1897 is a shotgun type weapon in BATTLEGROUNDS.

The Winchester Model 1897 “Trench Gun” (simply called the S1897 in-game) was designed by John Moses Browning. More than a million have been produced during its service era, used in conflicts from the Philippine-American War all the way through to the Gulf War. Typically chambered for 12 and 16 gauge, the in-game iteration is chambered solely for 12 gauge shotshell. Since its introduction in 1897 is has seen usage with military, law enforcement and hunters due to its effectiveness in close range combat, and now sees usage within BATTLEGROUNDS.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds S1897 in detail

The S1897 excels in clearing houses with the simple point-and-shoot principle, its spread allowing a greater probability of hitting the target. Careful aim is still essential since missing one shot can easily result in death due to the time required to rack the pump.

With a choke attached, the shotgun gains considerable range in the form of 25% tighter spread, being able to take out opponents from a fairly long distance. The reduced spread means reduced effectiveness in close quarters combat however. The duckbill choke has the opposite effect, spreading the pellets over a wider horizontal area, increasing effectiveness at close range.

  • Modest shotgun.

  • Increased overall damage and effective range.
    • Increased limb shots modifier (shooting limbs now does more damage).

What is PUBG S686?

Note: Statistics pulled from http://battlegrounds.party/weapons

The S686 is a shotgun type weapon in BATTLEGROUNDS.

The S686 is a sporting variant of the Beretta 686 “Silver Pigeon”, a competition-grade over-under style double-barreled shotgun commonly used among American clay pigeon shooters. In BATTLEGROUNDS, it is a relatively common hunting gun used primarily to put down players early in the game before more powerful weapons are found.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds S686 in detail

The S686 offers unparalleled burst damage in CQB due to its ability to almost instantaneously fire two 12-gauge shells, but it quickly loses damage at range unless equipped with a choke, and has a very long reload time, making dealing with enemies at range or more than one enemy difficult. Although it is tied with the sawed-off shotgun in that both have the lowest ammo capacity of the shotguns in the game, the S686 has the fastest rate of fire of all the shotguns, allowing for skilled users to potentially gain an upper hand in otherwise unfortunate situations. When fitted with a choke, the S686 can perform surprisingly well at distances up to 15m. The low ammo capacity leaves no room for error however, as a missed shot can mean a quick death.

Damage falloff starts off immediately. Beyond 285 meters, targets will not take any damage at all.

  • Double barrel shotgun.

Update #12 – v3.8.21.9
  • Increased overall damage and effective range.
    • Increased limb shots modifier (shooting limbs now does more damage).
    • Slightly decreased the damage of the S686.
    • Reduced pellet spread by 25%.

What is PUBG SLR?

Note: Statistics pulled from http://battlegrounds.party/weapons/raw/

The SLR (Self Loading Rifle), is a DMR type weapon in BATTLEGROUNDS. A semi-automatic, British version of the venerable FN FAL battle rifle, its 7.62mm cartridge it is chambered for delivers great stopping power at long distances in a moderately stable and accurate package, and has seen usage amongst various military forces across the globe for more than 50 years.

This weapon was introduced in the Test Server PC 1.0 update #12.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds SLR in detail

The SLR can be seen as a more powerful version of the SKS, dealing more damage at the expense of more recoil. Unlike the SKS however, it lacks an attachment point for any foregrips, requiring the user to have good recoil control and steady hands. Given that its initial bullet velocity is higher than that of the SKS as well as the fact that it also reloads slower, the SLR is more suited to ranged combat where there is ample cover and time to engage enemies. The length of the weapon may become an issue in close range engagements or when attempting to peek in and out of cover constantly.

  • Classic semi-automatic long rifle.

What is PUBG R1895?

Note: Statistics pulled from http://battlegrounds.party/weapons/raw/

The R1895 is a pistol type weapon in BATTLEGROUNDS.

The Nagant M1895 (simply called the R1895 in-game) is a seven-shot revolver originally issued to members and combatants of the Russian Empire. It was originally chambered for the proprietary 7.62x38mmR round, but because of its dimensions, it can also fire .32S&W, .32S&W Long, and .32H&R Magnum cartridges. It solves the issue of reduced muzzle velocities found on conventional revolvers caused by escaping gas, with a unique gas-seal system, making it one of the few revolvers in the world that can be reliably suppressed with the usage of the proprietary ammunition.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds R1895 in detail

The R1895 is one of the most challenging weapons to use, in that it has severe drawbacks that usually negate its benefits. Its extremely long reload time (with empty reloads being almost as slow as reloading an M249), inability to mount a red dot sight and fire rate slower than any of the other pistols make it a last resort weapon in nearly every situation, unless when sneaking up on players. To make things even worse, as of patch 1.0, the revolver can no longer kill with a single shot even to the head of an unarmored opponent due to damage falloff beginning the moment the bullet leaves the barrel, leaving any full health opponents with just the slightest amount of health.

Damage will continually decrease for as long as the bullet is in flight.

  • Powerful revolver using 7.62mm ammunition.
