Compensators are attachments with baffles that redirect muzzle gas in an effort to combat recoil or drift. It does this by redirecting the gases in the opposing direction of weapon drift and recoil so that the gas counteracts the action of the weapon.

Effect

• Reduced recoil, increased accuracy and stability for Sniper Rifles.

Trivia

• When attached to the SKS or Mk14 EBR, the compensator takes on the appearance of the Primary Weapon Systems FSC308 compensator.
• In reality, most compensators increase stability and decrease recoil at the cost of increasing the size of the muzzle blast and sound pressure of the gunshot. Linear compensators do not suffer from these issues as they redirect the high pressure gas forward at a reduced velocity.
